1 Corinthians Week 56

Today, we finished our study of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, and what scripture has to say about what and who does not inherit the Kingdom of God.  All of the lists of sins and sinful activities and attitudes that we have seen in the scriptures, listed on the board, reveal where the world lives and operates.  It is also where our flesh wants to drag us back to, where we were once the children of disobedience.

We took a good look at the difference between our Standing or Position before God, based upon what Christ accomplished through His death, burial, and resurrection — pure, holy, redeemed, and our State or Practical living in this flesh, being good soldiers, fighting the good fight of faith, mortifying the deeds of the flesh, putting off the old man and putting on the new man.  Paul’s personal testimony concerning the struggle is a good life lesson for us.  He gives an honest evaluation of the constant battle between flesh and spirit in Romans 7:14-24.

If Paul struggled with the reality of sin dwelling in him, and realizing that in his flesh dwelled no good thing, why would we think that we would be any different?  We will spend more time looking at scriptures that encourage us in our standing that Paul discusses in V.11 on June 11th.
