I apologize for the recording! I had a malfunction of the recorder and did not record the teaching time, so, I had to do a synopsis of what we covered.
We opened our study in chapter 8 today by laying a foundation of not having a judgmental attitude toward others. Chapter 8 is all about having a healthy attitude concerning our liberty in Christ. Judging others is a natural byproduct of the attitudes of the flesh. We all have a tendency to judge others, by what we see and hear. That is why Matthew 7:1-5, Romans 2:1-3, and Romans 14 all deal with this issue.
Galatians 5:13: For brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Please take time to read Acts 15 and Galatians 2, as well as Romans 14 and 1 Corinthians 8 to familiarize yourself with this issue of our liberty in Christ. We are never to use it for fleshly desires, nor are we to use it in such a manner that we become a stumbling block to immature believers. Remember, just because something is legal doesn’t mean that it is spiritually healthy for us.
