It was an incredible time of study this morning, as we got into the picture of manna in the wilderness is a picture of grace in the Church Age. Exodus 16 gave us the criteria for collecting the manna. It was a daily responsibility to be collected first thing each morning. Likewise, we are to access God’s grace every morning to start our day.
David, in the Dispensation of Law, understood that he needed to begin each day in fellowship with God.
Psalm 63:1-2: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Dan Funk, came up to me after class and gave me an incredible picture of how God’s grace is given to the humble. The Israelites had to get on their knees to harvest the manna that was small, which was a picture of humility. We, in the Dispensation of Grace can only expect God to bestow his grace upon those who humble themselves, and keep their communication lines open with God, by keeping short sin accounts.
We will look at the picture of water and the Rock of Christ next week in 1 Corinthians 10:4.
