It was wonderful getting back into our study of 1 Corinthians 10, studying out verses 11 & 12. There are some great companion scriptures on the board that help us to understand the Old Testament illustrations that Paul used were ensamples or patterns of what not to do. We are not to pattern our lives after the Israelites and their covetousness, idolatry, immorality, and rebellion. Their failures were recorded for our admonition or instruction, exhorting us to live righteously, and holily in this present evil world.
V.12 warns us to watch our step, because pride can take us down the road to personal destruction — take heed lest you fall!
1 John 2:15-17: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Next Sunday, we will get into verses, 13-14, and the awesome primes of God for deliverance!
