1 Corinthians week 168

Good Evening Everyone!  We completed our study of 1 Corinthians 15:35-38, the physics of immortality.  Walking through the different verses, comparing scripture with scripture, has given us a much clearer understanding of our position in the kingdom of God.
We are bestowed the title of sons of God, or direct creations of God at salvation.  2 Corinthians 5:17 is clear that everyone who is in Christ is a new creature / new creation; the things of our old man / old Adamic nature/ the flesh are passed away, because we are dead to the world, but alive to God.

Our salvation is based on God’s grace and mercy toward us.  We receive eternal life immediately with the complete forgiveness of all our sins past, present, and future!  We also receive the promise of the physical redemption of our bodies at the rapture / resurrection of all the Church Age saints.
Titus 1:2: In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Ultimately, we will become just like Christ, immortal and incorruptible, at the Day of Christ. This is the 2nd half of our salvation!  It is guaranteed by God!

Knowing all that is promised to us in our salvation, why would we not seek to be conformed to Christ, in our inner man now?  This is the great war between the flesh and spirit that we all are engaged in on a daily basis.  The natural man loves the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.  The new man is empowered to become more like Christ as he matures in his personal walk in Christ, learning to walk in the Spirit, and not fulfilling the lust of the flesh. The fruit of the Spirit will be manifested as a by-product of our growth in Christ.  Galatians 5:22-25
