The time just flew by this morning as we continued to look at the Days of Noah, going back to the creation of Adam to compare him to the sons of God in Genesis 6. Adam was called the son of God in Luke 3:38 Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. God said in Gen 1:26, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” The image of God is the spiritual and the likeness of God is the physical. Outwardly we look like God, but inwardly, because of Adam, we are born in Adam’s image, with a dead spirit.
Gen 5:3 And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth:
Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The only thing that Adam passed down to Seth, was a dead spirit that needed to be redeemed. Consequently, we are all born dead in trespasses and sins — Ephesians 2:1-3. We are born with a living body, a living soul, and a dead spirit. It is only through Christ that our spirits are made alive, so that we can be called the sons of God. John 1:10-13, Gal 4:6-7, 1 John 3:1-2
Understanding the days of Noah help us to be able to identify the world situation and the cultural climate leading up to the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ.
