Today, we broke open the 2nd parenthetical chapter in Revelation — ch.10. In ch. 6, we saw the first 6 seals opened, then there was a “break” in the chronology. Ch. 7 is an additional statement with no time element attached to it. There are no seals in the chapter. The 144,000 Jewish preachers are sealed and there is a vision of the multitudes in heaven. The 7th seal is not opened until ch.8:1, which takes us back to the beginning of the great tribulation, just after the abomination of desolation is revealed in the temple.
Ch.8-9, six trumpets sound, very similar to what happened in ch.6. Before the 7th trumpet can sound, there is another “break” in the chronology. In ch.10, we see a vision of the mighty angel coming down from heaven. The description gives us a clear understanding that this can be no one other than the Lord Jesus, himself! The 7th trumpet does not blow until ch.11:15.
We will finish ch.10 this coming Sunday, and get into the lynch-pin chapter of Revelation — ch.11. Thank you for your diligence and faithfulness in our study.
