V. 7 — The Bride has made herself ready by going to the judgment seat of Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Romans 14:10-12
The Bride of Christ (the Church) is called a “chaste virgin” in 2 Corinthians 11:1-3
V.8 — The fine linen that the Bride is wearing is an outward representation of the personal righteousness that the Bride (the Church) acquires through obedience to the Word with a repentent heart attitude.
1. We are born again by God’s righteousness — Jesus Christ (Ephesians 4:32)
2. We are given His righteousness as a “free gift” through salvation (Romans 6:23)
3. What we do, after we are born again, for the kingdom of God, constitutes our righteousness.
It always has to do with our heart attitude. Is the reward gold (the knowledge of God through studying the Word), silver (price of redemption), and precious stones (the souls of men), or is it the wood, hay, and stubble of service with selfish motives? This is the daily task that we must examine ourselves daily to make sure our heart is right with God. (Revelation 16:15; 1 John 2:28; 1 John 3:1-3)
V.9 — The called to the marriage are blessed! Who are these people that are called?
Psalm 45; Song of Solomon 2:8-14; 6:8-9
Old Testament Saints before the Law — Adam to Moses (Concubines) These are all the people that believed God and His promises, but do not receive the physical inheritance.
Old Testament Saints under the Law — Moses to John the Baptist (Friends) These are the obedient Israelites and faithful Jews who died before the crucifixion of Christ. They receive their inheritance at the 2nd Advent (Matthew 25:14-30). Song of Solomon 3:6-11; John 3:29
Tribulational Gentile Saints — (Guests) Those Gentiles who believe the message of the 144,000 missionaries and accept Jesus as Messiah / Savior and are killed. Matthew 22:1-10
Tribulational Jewish Saints — (Virgins) Jews of the tribulation who believe the message of the 144,000 and accept Jesus as Messiah / Savior and are killed. Revelation 6:9-11; Matthew 25; Psalm 45:13-17
