1 Corinthians Week 129

We took some time today to reveal how signs and wonders will be reinstated when the body of Christ is raptured out of this world at the Day of Christ, studying 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12.  1 Corinthians 1:22 gives us the insight into how the Jews will be fooled into following the Antichrist with the signs and lying wonders he will perform.  For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

In this Dispensation of the Grace of God, the time of the Mystery in which Gentiles are offered salvation by the gift of grace, everyone must come to Christ the same way — by faith!  Ephesians 2:8-9

2 Thessalonians 2:8-10: And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Understanding the difference between the Day of Christ and the Day of the Lord helps us rightly divide the Word of God.  I mentioned that I believe the “man of sin” / the “son of perdition” in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 is Judas Iscariot.  There are several reasons for this conclusion, but it is just my personal belief.  I encourage you to study the scriptures and seek understanding.

1. Jesus called him a devil in John 6:70-71: Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

2. Jesus called him the “son of perdition” in John 17:12: While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

3. Judas went to “his own place” when he died, which I believe to be the bottomless pit. Acts 1:25: That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.Revelation 9:11: And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.  I believe the king of the bottomless pit is Judas.  He is the beast.

Some simple truths:

1. God has a wife — Israel, currently estranged because of Israel’s rebellion and blindness.  Romans 11:25-26

2. God has a son — Jesus Christ. John 3:16

3. Jesus Christ has a bride — the Church Age saints. Ephesians 5:25-27

4. Satan has a wife — the Babylon Mystery Religion. Revelation 17-18

5. Satan has a son — Judas Iscariot , the son of perdition. John 17:12; 2 Thess 2:3

Genesis 3:14-15: And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

We must remember that Satan is the great copycat.  He does not have any independent ideas or plans.  He simply copies God’s plans and makes them his own twisted, wicked plans.  This is why we must be careful not to apply that which is specifically for the Jews to us in the Church Age.  I absolutely believe in miracles and God revealing his power and authority through outward manifestations.  The issue is that we are not to seek for these miracles except that they reinforce what the Word of God has revealed to us concerning who we are in Christ Jesus.  Signs and wonders are for the Jews.

Remember: We do not look for the signs of the times because we do not live in the times of the signs.
