1 Corinthians Week 158

Our time flew by this morning, as we finished our look at the difference between the Day of Christ, the rapture / resurrection of the Church Age saints, and the Day of the Lord / That Day, the 2nd Advent / physical return of Christ to establish the millennial kingdom.

Philippians 1:6,10: Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.

Malachi 3:17: And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Paul used “that day” to describe what will happen when the Church Age saints are raptured, because the Bema / Rewards judgment seat of Christ will occur at the same time, as this world will be going through the tribulation.

2 Timothy 1:12: For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
2 Timothy 4:6-8: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

We will finish our study of the first resurrection — the firstfruits harvest of the Old Testament saints with Christ, the general harvest of the Church Age saints at the rapture, and the gleanings harvest resurrection of the tribulation saints, being called up to the marriage supper of the Lamb, next Sunday, looking at Revelation 20, and the millennial kingdom of Messiah King Jesus, and all who will reign with Christ.

Revelation 19:7-9: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Revelation 20:4: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
