1 Corinthians Week 67

The 5 verses we examined today are critical to understanding how God views us in our state as born again believers.  We are to focus on how the great commission is to be accomplished in our lives where we are socially, culturally, professionally, and in our family.  God saves us, and expects us to grow and be trained to reach our world with the gospel, and then seek to disciple those that God brings into our lives.

Ephesians 6:5-8 : Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;  Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;  With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:  Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.  And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21:  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

God has reconciled us through Jesus Christ taking our place, being made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God!

Please remember to pray for the Disaster Relief team, as they are serving the hurricane victims in the Houston area.  Thank you all, for the awesome spur of the moment offering of $322.00 for mold treatment that the team was able to purchase!  I am so grateful to be part of such an incredible giving class!  It is the Philippians 4:17 principle being exercised in you all — “Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.”  Your sacrificial giving to assist the disaster relief team means that it will be laid to your account in heaven!  Matthew 6:19-21:  Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:  But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
