1 Corinthians 8:3 — But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
Today, we had a chance to see the true heart of our Christian experience. Paul reminds us in verse 3 that it is not about how much we know of church doctrine or Bible history, or how many verses we can quote. It is about the unconditional love that we show one another. Our care for one another is the one outward manifestation to the world that Christianity is genuine.
John 13:34-35; 15:12 — A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. This is my commandment, That ye love one another. as I have loved you.
As you can see, it is a command that we go outside our comfort zone of the self life that culture demonstrates, and show true agape love toward one another. This is what the world will identify in us — our love for each other reveals our love of God.
