1 Corinthians Week 74

It was a great study this morning, getting into the first 2 verses of 1 Corinthians 8.  Paul is making it very clear, in tackling the question about meat that is offered to idols.  He pretty much says that everyone knows where the inexpensive meat comes from — “we all have knowledge…”  His main focus was on getting the Corinthians and us on loving each other, as opposed to elevating oneself through personal knowledge.  Knowledge is fine when it is tempered by unconditional love. The scriptures that we read as companion scriptures to this issue really gave clarity concerning the mind of God concerning knowledge — all knowledge and wisdom is His treasure to give!  All means all, all the time!

Colossians 2:1-3:  For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
