Is God a bigamist? Today was our third installment dealing with marriage and divorce, and how God's marriage to Israel was fraught with spiritual adultery on many occasions. Today, we read in prophecy, God's plan to reconcile his estranged wife, Israel, back to himself and betroth her again.
Hosea 2:19-20: And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
Not only will God restore Israel into a harmonious marriage relationship with Him, He will also place resurrected David as king over Israel to rule and reign as co-regent with Messiah King Jesus. The kingdom and eternity future will be glorious for the nation that God had to divorce because of her spiritual adultery.
Ezekiel 34:23-24: And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
Jeremiah 30:9: But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
Yes, the 12 apostles will sit on 12 thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel (Matthew 19:28), but David will be king, again! This coming Sunday we will address the events of the last days that lead up to the restoration of the nation through the suffering she will go through in the great tribulation. Matthew 24:13-21, Romans 11:7-12, 25-27, Isaiah 11:1-16
