Today we studied “The Law / Doctrine of Non-contradiction.” This law simply states that two opposites cannot both be true at the same time. We used Acts 3:17-21 in contrast to Romans 16:25-27. What Peter said to his Jewish audience was completely true with a kingdom application doctrinally. What Paul said to his Gentile audience was also completely true concerning the dispensation of grace. They simply could not be true at the same time, because they were to two different groups of believers focusing on two different dispensations.
2 Timothy 2:15 compels the honest Bible student to rightly divide truth from truth. It must always be our guide when we are studying our Bibles. The scriptures we read last Sunday in Matthew 24:45-51 and Luke 12:40-48 were all about the events leading up to and including the 2nd Advent. The dispensational truth concerning Daniel's 70th week explained by Jesus on the Mount of Olives does not apply to us in this dispensation of the grace of God Amen! Pour judgment will be one of reward for our attitudes and actions obeying the commands delivered to the apostle Paul.
Ephesians 1:7-12: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
This wonderful truth reveals the mystery of God's will concerning the body of Christ, the Church Age believers as delivered to Paul. We have a responsibility to live our lives to the praise of his glory here and now in preparation for the dispensation of the fulness of times that awaits us. We are saved not by what Christ did for us in his finished cross work. We are saved by believing what he did for us on Calvary.
2 Corinthians 5:21: For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Please bring your copy of the outline of the book of Revelation to class for the next few weeks. We will be taking a brisk walk through Revelation using that as a guide.
