1 Corinthians Week 160

Good morning!  We were able to, thanks to Pat Hegler, put the recording from Sunday night on our website!  You are awesome, Pat!

I do have a correction in one of the references I used concerning the Great White Throne judgment.  I stated that this is the “idle words” judgment, because all of the deeds of the lives of those on trial will be revealed. The reference is found below:

Matthew 12:35-37: A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

We were able to briefly look at the 3 great days of scripture:

The Day of Christ:  the rapture of the Church Age saints  (1 Thess 4:13-18; 1 Cor 15:50-54)

The Day of the Lord: the 2nd Advent of Messiah King Jesus (Rev 19:11-21; Isaiah 63:1-4; Romans 11:25-27)

The Day of God: when God destroys all that is on the surface of the earth, removing everything tarnished by man, bringing in the new heavens and new earth, with the holy city, the new Jerusalem descending from heaven, ushering in eternity future in a perfect, sinless world. (Isaiah 65:17; 2 Peter 3:10-13; Rev 21:1-4, but all of Rev 21 & 22 explain eternity future in some detail)

The final place of torment for all the wicked of all time is the lake of fire.  Death and hell are cast into it, as well as the beast and false prophet, and Satan himself – the unholy trinity.  (Rev 19:20, 20:10-15; Isaiah 66:22-24)

I am looking forward to next week’s study! Let’s shoot for 10:00am next Sunday.
