Today, we embarked on a three week study of God’s prophetic program from eternity past to eternity future in light of current events. Everything we see in the news and other media sources shows a global culture that out of control. It is imperative that we stay the course in our faith and trust in Jesus Christ as our coming savior, and realize that he is in control!
Karin read a quote to me that she heard on Christian radio — “You are either a spiritual / cultural thermometer or a thermostat.” We all know the difference. A thermometer merely reports the temperature of its surroundings, but a thermostat controls the temperature of its surroundings. May we all seek to be spiritual / cultural thermostats, as we interact with family, friends, co-workers, and the world in general, reflecting the holiness of Christ in our lives.
We were able to lay the groundwork this morning reading Psalms 2:7-9 and 2 Timothy 1:8-11, understanding that God the Father declared God the Son to be the begotten one who, according to 2 Timothy 1:8-11, would save us and call us according to his own purpose and grace, and not by our own self-righteous acts. This plan was laid out before the world began! The manifestation of Jesus Christ, with his virgin birth, sinless life, and propitious death, burial, and resurrection, abolished death, and gifted all who call upon him with eternal life!
Let us not be weary in well doing in these last days of the dispensation of grace, but be ever looking for the immenent return of our Lord and Savior!
