I want to thank Pat Hegler for the tutorial of how to navigate our website – rdtw.org. He has developed an incredible tool to help us all in our personal Bible study. I am very excited about how the Lord will use this in the days ahead! Today, we finally unpacked the issue of how God dealt with Israel concerning forgiveness before the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as pointed out in Matthew 6:13, 14-15, where forgiveness from God was predicated on the individual Jew's willingness to be forgiving toward those who wrong him. It is very clear that the If / Then principle found in Exodus 21 and 22. Leviticus 5, and Deuteronomy 19 and 25 is how God would pour out blessing or cursing to the people, based upon how they dealt with each other, as well as God as a nation. 1 Samuel 12:14-15: If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God: But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers. 2 Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. The historic application is all about Israel. The doctrinal application is all about Israel. But, we can all make personal devotional and inspirational application of these principles of how to develop a proper fellowship with our heavenly Father. We do know in this dispensation of the grace of God, the issue of forgiveness has been settled at the cross. In Christ, we are forgiven once and for all! We operate on the basis of what Christ has done for us. Acts 13:38-39, Romans 8:31-39, Ephesians 1:13-14, 2:1-10, 4:31-32 Colossians 1:14: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Romans 8:38-39: For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
