Today was a fast and furious Bible study, as we walked through the four gospels found in the New Testament.
The Four Gospels:
1.The gospel of the kingdom of heaven preached by John the Baptist, Jesus Christ, and the apostles. 2. The gospel of the grace of God for the dispensation of grace preached by Paul and given to all of us in this dispensation. 3. The gospel of the kingdom of heaven 2.0 preached to Israel and the world in the tribulation 4. The everlasting gospel preached by an angel sent from heaven as one last extending of the grace of God to all the world at the end of the tribulation.
In each dispensation the good news / gospel is given to mankind of how to walk in right fellowship and obedience to God. Each gospel is different from the preceding dispensation, and the gospel of the dispensation that follows will be different from the current one.
God never changes...He is immutable, but his dealings with mankind has changed throughout history. Faith is the key element in salvation in each dispensation, but the object of that faith has changed throughout history.
Faith has always saved. Faith is believing what God said and acting upon it. In the end, the individual's faith in whatever they were instructed to do was credited to their account for salvation. When the individual passed into eternity they were given full understanding of the blood atonement through Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 11:1-2,6: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
