RDTW week 219 The Gifts and Calling of God

Today we examined God's promise to remnant Israel to save her from the all-out assault by the Antichrist. Moses prophesied in Deuteronomy 4:30-31 concerning the latter days (great tribulation – Matthew 24:13-21). This begins at the midpoint of Daniel's 70th week with the abomination of desolation.

Deuteronomy 4:30-31: When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Paul, concerning Israel's blindness, makes the same prophetic declaration in Romans 11:26-29: And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

God's covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob will be fulfilled at the 2nd Advent! Jesus will come with a sword and a rod. God will not forget his covenant with His people. Matthew 24:44-51 and Luke 12:40-48 describe the time of the tribulation and the righteous judgment of Messiah King Jesus when he returns to save Israel and purge the world of all wickedness. Our Bible is quite descriptive of what will happen when the Deliverer returns. I am so grateful that Jesus took all my stripes for me! I am grateful that the judgment of the Church Age saints will be based on our service to him, and no sin will be laid to our charge!

We will look at contrasting scriptures from Paul's writings next Sunday and see the Law of Non-contradiction (Two opposites cannot both be true at the same time.) at work. What we read today in Matthew and Luke are prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled, but they are not true for us nor do they apply to us in this dispensation of grace. This is why 2 Timothy 2:15 must always be our compass guide into all truth. Remember, rightly dividing truth from truth is to place those truths in their proper dispensation.

All the Bible was not written to us, but all the Bible was written for us.

Romans 15:4: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
