We have begun an incredible adventure through Ephesians 2, one of the most powerful chapters of church doctrine in all the Bible. Over the past two Sundays we have covered the first five verses. We compared scripture with scripture in each of these verses to enhance our understanding. On May 22nd we spent some time laying the groundwork for revealing the doctrine. We actually were able to get through V.1 and 2. V.1: It is God that gives life to our spiritual deadness that was passed down from Adam, when he disobeyed God's command and ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 2:17, Genesis 5:3, Romans 5:12, 1 Corinthians 15:22 V.2: In “time past”, that is before our encounter with the saving grace of God through the cross of Christ, we were the children of disobedience, and the slaves of Satan, the god of this world – the prince of the power of the air. 1 John 5:19, 1 Corinthians 4:1-4
