Today was an exciting tour through one of the great chapters of doctrine in our Bible. We completed 1 Corinthians 15 & 16, so, next Sunday we will begin our overview of 2 Corinthians. Please read a chapter a day, beginning with chapter one, and mark the key verse that speaks to you in each chapter. Chapter 15 is so critical to us in this “Mystery” period / the dispensation of the grace of God, because Paul defines the gospel, the good news of salvation to the entire world, Jew and Gentile alike. V.3-4: For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: It is our blessed hope – believing in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ as the propitiation / appeasement for our sins, bringing us into relationship with a righteous and holy God, giving us eternal life, sonship, and fellowship. Romans 10:9-13, Ephesians 1:13-14 The resurrection of Christ gives us hope for our resurrection! Titus 2:13-15 Thank you, everyone, who shared a key verse that spoke to you this week. Our opportunity to discuss these verses, was quite enlightening. Please go to our class website – kenwooten.com or cornerstonebibleclass.com and watch the video, if you were not able to attend this morning. The final nine verses of chapter 15 reveal one of the mysteries / secrets revealed to Paul specifically for the dispensation of grace. The mysteries / secrets are listed below: 1. The Mystery that was kept secret since the world began – the dispensation of the grace of God – the time of the Gentiles being fellowheirs. This is the time of the indwelling of Christ in every saved person through the presence of the Holy Spirit. Romans 16:25-27, Ephesians 3:1-7, Colossians 1:25-29, Colossians 4:3, 1 Timothy 3:9 2. The Mystery of the hidden wisdom of God. 1 Corinthians 2:7-16, Colossians 2:1-3 3. The Mystery of the blindness of Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Romans 11:25-27 4. The Mystery of God's will – his eternal purpose of our inheritance. Ephesians 1:7-12 5. The Mystery of the rapture of the Church. 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, 1 Thess 4;13-18 6. The Mystery of godliness. 1 Timothy 3:16 7. The Mystery of iniquity / Antichrist. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12 Some of the mysteries may overlap, but we can get a clear understanding of our position in Christ through understanding these mysteries!
